This Year

This year, I am learning to be weak.

To embrace all I am not. To celebrate all I am. To invite Jesus into every piece.

This year, I am learning to accept the fullness of His grace.

To lean into its sufficiency. To find strength in its embrace. To bend but not break under life’s unexpected.

This year, I am learning I will always have rough edges.

To refine. To grate. To grow into smooth.

This year, I am learning a better kind of peace.

Bigger than the waves that rage. Greater than the battle in my head. Stronger than anything the world can muster.

This year, I am learning where my hope truly lies.

Not in people. Not in ideology. Not in anything but Him.

This year, I am learning the bittersweet of joy.

Born from pain. Brought in love. Bound in choosing.

This year, I am learning there is a better way to do hard things.

Not in isolation. Not in separation. Not set apart.

But together.
